Cover: 7 Devils of the Aid Industry

About the Book:

My life changed in 2008 after floods hit my state, Bihar and since then it has been a personal journey meeting interesting people trying to help.

Like a lot of idealists who believe that aid work is some form of angelic doing good work, we forget that being human also means acknowledging the devil inside us. This book can be considered anything but objective reality; it is very personal, it is very subjective yet, it is very real to me.

There is no specific goal or agenda I have with the book, except for letting all that has been inside me, to be out in the open. For me, just the fact that it took me a long time to write, finish it and put it out there is itself the goal.

The book can be seen as a primary reflection of a local aid worker, a volunteer, a community member who like many others, just want to contribute to the society and help his own people. In this quest, he meets a lot of different characters who teach and preach him.

It is very personal. It is very political. But it’s also just fun!

All characters and events depicted in this book are entirely fictitious. Any similarity to actual events or persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
